R&D Engineer Materials and Acoustics in Transport Sector
Member of the Acoustic Laboratory of Le Mans University (LAUM)

Researcher at LAUM (Le Mans, France), I am concerned about acoustics, numerical modelling and optimisation methods. I have mainly worked in collaboration with the transport industry (SNCF, Safran, Stellantis) on the topic of metamaterials, and two years on the topic of microporous mineral foams and their applications to acoustics at Empa (Zürich Area, Switzerland).

PhD Thesis - Modeling and design of meta-porous graded materials incorporating micro-resonateurs for sound attenuation in lined ducts.

This PhD aims at designing and experimentally validating novel porous materials specifically designed to absorb low-frequency sound. With standard materials this requires very thick treatments that cannot be used in practical applications. The challenge is to provide strong sound absorption and attenuation with thin treatments. The focus will be on functionally graded, digital meta-porous materials that incorporate micro-resonators to efficiently attenuate low frequency waves in lined ducts. New possibilities offered by rapid prototyping techniques will be employed to both manufacture and guide the design of these new acoustic treatments.

Master Thesis - Modeling of acoustic panels, an application of sonic crystals to railway noise reduction

SNCF as the manager of the french national rail network is obliged to respect the regulations in force concerning the exposure to the noise of the residents. The idea that we wish to study through this Master Thesis is the possibility of using resonant sonic crystals for a case of railway application. This approach is part of a research and innovation work in the field of acoustic barriers: finding, optimising, developing new concepts adapted to railway constraints and needs.
